No! Do not attempt to shoot .357 magnum in .38 special firearm.

You can, however, shoot .38 special in a .357 magnum firearm.

believe it is the other way around. You can shoot 38 special in a 357 magnum weapon. You cannot shoot 357 magnum in a weapon chambered for 38 special. The 357 cartridge is to long for the chamber

No, actually, unless it’s chambered for .357 Magnum the cartridge will not even fit. You won’t be able to close the cylinder and it will not go into battery.
