Jonathan Gruber, usually called the architect of obamacare, and he did use the word stupidity. I must have seen that video 30 times. Or more.
He also stated in a speech somewhere that they had to write obamacare using “tortured language’ so the congressional budget office would not realize it was actually a tax, and they would kill it before it got started.
And another side note, we dodged a bullet there, when Trump issued an executive order stating that all government agencies should not collect any taxes or fines related to obamacare. From 2017 to 2023, (conveniently after obama left office), obamacsare was scheduled to impose no less than 20 new taxes or increases in existing ones. (I think the actual number was 21 or 23) Thanks to President Trump, none of that will happen now. (capitalization of only Trump’s name done intentionally and for a reason.)
Stupidity is the correct word, Obamacare is one of the most egregious pieces of legislation ever passed on the Earth, maybe THE worst. I have long been amazed at the people, one of them a truly great neurosurgeon, who appeared to believe that it was as great as Obama AND crew pretended it was. In reality it was a huge transfer of wealth from the pockets of the middle class to a huge array of criminals. Anyone with any understanding would realize that it could only be a disaster even if those who produced it were sincere in trying to do something good and the ones who were behind its creation were trying only to steal money from honest people.
