Who is No. 4?
That could end up being the most pressing question for the College Football Playoff committee. If we assume that Alabama, Ohio State and the ACC champion all make the playoff, who will be the fourth team that joins them?
The competition for the last spot is more open than it has been in years as five-time defending Big 12 champion Oklahoma is already sitting on two losses. While OU isnt currently in first place in the Big 12, the Sooners can win out and take a sixth consecutive conference crown.
With Oklahoma out of the mix barring some chaos over the final six weeks of the regular season, heres a look at who we think are the top contenders to grab the final playoff spot.

Harbaugh is a Conservative Christian. He's dead to the NFL.
I can’t stand Clemson but I was not overly impressed with the ND win over a Lawrenceless Clemson.
From what I have seen of THE OSU, they are going to be hard pressed to even win a berth in the Big 10 championship game.
What could Lawrence have done better? I think the better argument is the diminished Clemson defense.
but it was a great win and exciting football. Had to turn it off when the Rats took over the airwaves to announce their coup
I’m glad I was watching on UHD as I didn’t see the announcement of the successful coup.
As I said, I’m not a Clemson apologist and can’t stand them. You can’t believe starting a freshman QB over Trevor Lawrence doesn’t affect Clemson’s offense no matter how well he played. Clemson definitely couldn’t run the ball. I think you are correct that Clemson’s defense was very suspect.
I imagine we’ll get to see an exciting rematch in the ACC championship game. Good luck to the Irish, I hope you knock off Clemson again!
So, why would Oklahoma be ‘out of the mix’ if they win out?
Oklahoma was hobbled in the earlier games with their best running back and best defensive lineman out on suspension. Both are back and this isn’t the same Oklahoma that opened the season.
Wait, they held CFP this year?

No one with two losses has ever been in the CFP.
Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan State, Michigan.
Other than the surprising Hoosiers, who is going to stop them? OSU will have to be ready fir trick plays because that seemed to be what Rutgers relied on yesterday and other teams will learn from that.
I would like to see Cincinnati in the final four.
I have no interest in this season, though I am happy we beat the Blue State Dawgs yesterday. But this season is a farce.
The people have spoken wrote: “No one with two losses has ever been in the CFP.”
Not sure why that is relevant to this crazy season. I believe only conference champions should be considered.
Notre Dame will be lucky to win all the road games on their schedule.
