The problem with draining it is that all the muck just clogs it up again. It is not as if you can simply pull the plug, and glug glug it’s drained.
Well as much crap as there is in the swamp some will always stick to the sides until you scrub it out hard......or just cover it over as you would a nuclear dump...and create a fresh water lake.
