A music video for a Korean drama, Sungkyunkwan Scandal. In a time when women were not allowed to be educated, a poor girl accidentally enters the academy that trains Korean officials. A video of surviving undercover, when being discovered means death for the whole family.
One of my favorite Asian dramas. Acting is superb and the mystery of who killed the previous king brings out the conflicts between the Sungkyunkwan sons and their official fathers.
An HD version of the series on viki.com
PING to music video post
By the way, the Trump memes video to this song has been found by the anti-Trumpers. Highest percentage of down arrows I’ve ever had on a video.
I never thought of that!
So many of the asian dramas are remakes. There’s a Chinese remake of this Korean drama, too.
If you’re up for the tale of a Wei dynasty courtier who fought his way to the brink of usurping the throne (which his son did after he died), in mostly RP accents:

Now I couldn’t stand Game of Thrones. It was too graphic for me. I was raised on Chinese novels because mother was a mystery fiend and collected all the Van Gulik Judge Dee novels, which I still have. Actually, those are pretty bloody, too, but I can imagine less blood.
While all the historicals do stress the nobility vs the emperor, I want ones with good plots to offset the violence.
Best ones I’ve found are:

I first took the lower cost subscription, which was a good deal for number of series to watch (5 per month if I remember right). But watching 24/7 for months on end, I finally decided I had no option but to go for the higher cost subscription, which is still only 10 per month. First subscription series that I’ve had ZERO regrets taking.

Thanks for the suggestions, re various series. I wish they were all dubbed. I watch only when I’m working out, but it’s a hassle to deal with subtitles when I’m curling a dumbbell.

Choi Jin Hyuk is one of the most popular South Korean actors working today. Born as Kim Tae Ho on February 9, 1986, Choi Jin Hyuk broke into entertainment in 2006 after he won the grand prize in the reality talent show “Survival Star Audition.” He adopted his stage name in 2010 before his role in the drama “It’s Alright, Daddy’s Daughter.” He also starred in “I Need Romance” (2011) and “Panda and Hedgehog” (2012), but it was his memorable roles of a fierce spirit god in the drama “Gu Family Book” and a moody chaebol in “Heirs” in 2013 that elevated Choi Jin Hyuk to superstardom. Leading roles quickly followed starting in 2014 with the popular dramas “Emergency Couple,” “Grandpas Over Flowers Investigation Unit,” “Fated to Love You” and “ride and Prejudice.” In March 2015, Choi Jin Hyuk enlisted for his mandatory military service, and he made his comeback after discharge in the 2017 drama “Tunnel.”
I read somewhere that most of the asian series are studio dubbed because they don’t do good nat sound. I’ll often hear poorly done sound inserts of footsteps, etc.
Let me tell you how desperate I get. When a new series comes up on viki.com and the crowd sourcing hasn’t been done yet, I watch it without any subtitles waiting for the version with subtitles to appear. By the way, viki.com crowd sourcing is PHENOMENAL and puts the YouTube versions to shame, which is why viki always tells you not to steal their crowd sources subtitles and put them on YouTube.
