FOX was breathless in their coverage of Texas last night. "About to turn BLUE?" "Massive inroads being made."
DOOM and GLOOM all around. TRUMP "squeaks" by.
REALITY:
2016 DJT 4,685,047 52.2% Clinton 3,877,868 43.2% DJT + 807,179 +9.0%
2020 DJT 5,858,820 52.2% Biden 5,196,313 46.3% DJT + 662,507 5.9%
Not the best trend, HOWEVER, this is a substantial and solid win. FOX, except for Rove, was amazed at how close the race was in Texas.
That’s not what I see around me, but I’ll look into it further.
I’m hoping Hispanics in Texas trend like Hispanics in Florida - it just hasn’t trended in Texas yet. Most believe in work, family and faith. The democrats are the enemy of all three.
But luckily for TX, he is conservative.

Did you say college? What makes you think colleges
are that conservative in Texas?
That would indicate the problem is with suburbanites, especially suburban whites with a college degree.
That is a long term and potentially devastating problem for the GOP.
Going forward the GOP will have to find a way to win all white groups expect those living in large cities and making 1% level money. That means winning the college educated white middle and upper-middle class, plus the white working class.
And the GOP will have to get someone who can at least win a sizable minority of the non-white vote.
It’ll be an indictment on whites if Trump managed to do better with Non-whites this time but lost because of idiots in the suburbs who think Trump is mean.

The Libertarian, Gary Johnson, had 283,492 in 2016 in Texas.
According to AP (updated a couple minutes ago) Howie Hawkins from the Green Party had 32,917 and Libertarian Jo Jorgensen had 124,650 this year (subject to final ballot box stuffing).
Trust me a few nights of a boycott would get FOXs attentions fast.

I think Texas colleges are more likely to be reopened this fall for in-person instruction.
Calfornia colleges are likely not.
I’m happy to turn over my hard earned tuition money for my son to a Texas public university. California doesn’t deserve one penny more of my money that they already take.
True. But the trend is telling and its lousy for Texas. Like a lot of posters say:

From what I have heard, all Texas universities are open until Thanksgiving and the rest of the semester will be completed online. Some classes are virtual now, though.
It looks like Texas is slipping as a conservative stalwart.
Does not bode well for 2024, 2028, etc...
I thought Texas was checking Voter Registration cards to make sure they vote the “right” way, before allowing any immigration from other states?

My wife was quick to point out that any political reporter would know to stay away from red or blue which would indicate a preference.
Fox’s coverage last night was atrocious......Not because I didn’t like the political outcome but what and how they covered it......This was the group of “pros” they assembled....I could have done a better job with a group of college kids.....
Been a Fox News watcher since the inception of Fox News. Even have a free coffee mug they sent me as a loyal viewer when they first started (yes, they were deperate for viewers then).....
This morning my wife and I switched to NewsMax. Goodbye forever Fox News.

I think there’s a huge problem with unmarried women of all income levels.
The United States needs marriage, and morals. We need church. Those are conservative values.
I’ve done my part. On the surface I look like a Dem: female, professional, well educated, white, and upper middle class in the SF Bay Area suburbs.

Yes, that too. My ex who is an immigrant from Pakistan and arrived Christian and conservative is now a flaming liberal.
UT and SMU are all Asian majority in many areas like engineering .
Chinese masses are taking over quietly thru abusing our Greedy universities .
I would stay away from UT - deep in the liberal hell-hole of Austin. Most of the other schools should be OK.
Texas is bursting with these foreign cheap job stealers and Chicom spies in all the
universities .
Go to a UT graduation now .
