Yes, God is in control.
But that does not necessary bode well for God’s people.
With God in control, we can still lose our country and see the world put under the dark cloud of global tyranny.
As Jefferson said, if there is a God, certainly He would want us to be free to worship Him and spread his word.
God wants us to fight to prevent that tyranny.
Scripture nowhere guarantees we “keep our country”. How many foreign nations did Israel have to live under in it’s history? And that on top of dozens of horrific kings... and yes, they deserved it, just as the USA deserves what it gets. Yes, I grieve at the loss of rights we WILL endure. Yes, I will miss the slightly reduced tax bill under Trump. Yes, I will complain about the further skyrocketing costs of my healthcare as Biden gives it away for free to illegal immigrants and deadbeats. Yes, I will bemoan the expansion of taxpayer abortion through birth.
But this nation, as much as I love her, is wicked to the very core - and if God allows the USA to even EXIST in any form, it is an act of Grace.
ANd let’s be honest - the greatest expansion of Biblical Christianity has been when/where oppression and persecution have been heavy.
And this election won’t change the command of God to Go make disciples... He didn’t give any exceptions based on circumstances. And if Biblical Christians hadn’ sat on their hands (both electorally and in actually pursuing this command of Christ) - this nation would likely not be in its current moral septic tank. Alas - stiff-necked, hard-hearted people who won’t endure sound teaching...
