We are a gated community and agree to the terms of living here by choice. It keeps people from parking on the street, having crappy window unit ac’s and parking in their yards. I would never live somewhere near other people without a HOA.
I live in the country and couldn’t see a window of my neighbors or what’s attached to it or their cars are home to not. So each their own. I also keep a 90 pound German shepherd running lose on my farm fenced property. That’s what I wanted and I have it. I guess I have a HOA of 1.
