What is the difference between a Boat and a Ship?
----------------------------------------------------
I remember in Navy boot camp when I used the word "boat" when talking to the Company Commander. He taught me in no uncertain terms that I would never call it a boat again but only used the word "ship".

The way I learned it in boot camp was that any vessel under 100’ long was a boat. Over that, a ship.
Submarines are also “boats” regardless of length.

So how does one address the COB?
That’s ok...we couldn’t call our weapon a “gun” but it did have a “gun sling” as correct nomenclature..

My career Navy dad said - if you can row it, it is a boat ;)
Prayers up, on this election eve, that is like no other.
