Im in southwestern rural Virginia and voted early on Friday. Took about fifty minutes at 9 am. About fifty people in line at any given time and the line never shortened. My husband and I were 7253 and 7254 and all early voting in my county was held at the county offices in one area.
Now the voting has moved into individual precincts. By 8 am, one of my friends in an even more rural precinct had voted and was number 1002.
So, this is going to be a blowout in percentage of eligible voters.
Just saw a post from a friend in Virginia Beach at his voting precinct at 5:40 a.m. and the line was hundreds of people long and took him almost an hour to vote. He stated the line remained long even after he voted. Another friend from a different precinct in the Virginia Beach area chimed in they were seeing the same types of lines.
Do you have a Republican or Democrat representative?
I guess to the line monitor all those people look alike.
We’re in a very small rural community in Grayson County. We were the only ones at the poles at 7 a.m. and were #13 and #14 to vote this morning.
....wow...PYOU-laski County....I know the area well...lived in southwest Virginia for a time...learned to fly there and have flown all over Southwest Virginia....beautiful country but pretty poverty-strickn now, from what I am told....wonder if the federal revenooers are still busting moonshine stills in Franklin County....??
Just voted in Virginia Beach. 30 minute wait in Kempsville, Brother in law said 1 and half hours earlier this morning.
2,758,957 (As of 11/2/2020)
574,872 (2016)
There is a lot of enthusiasm in counties like Giles, Bland and Pulaski.
My priest ended our church service on Sunday with the admonition “Get out and vote!” So, on speaking to him outside upon leaving, I said “Father, can I vote twice?” He replied, “You have my blessing.” LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to Price’s Chapel down at the corner about 0900 this morning. Waited about a minute for the door to open and be invited in, no line just a small steady stream of ones and twos. Maybe a little bit more than usual but this is rural Oklahoma, it will be red pretty much all the way.
I’m going to try to keep myself busy and go to bed and forego all the drama if I can hold out. I am not counting any chickens, never do.
I live in Northern Virginia, south of Alexandria, in an area that is deep blue. Weve had early voting here with two hour lines every day for the last two weeks. Now, on Election Day, instead of the usual half hour or longer wait, there is no line and no wait. I think all the early voting siphoned away most of the votes that would normally be cast today.
I think so too. There were reports of that happening in several places in NOVA.
