[Vanity] Voter Roll Updates - Who Handles This?

Voter rolls have been a major point of contention between those who want election integrity, and those who don’t.

I spent some time doing voter lookups for family and friends. My brother, who moved to Ohio from Texas over a year ago, is still a registered voter on the voter rolls here in Texas. I let him know, and he informed me that he and his wife have definitely registered to vote in Ohio. Is there some responsibility for voters to AFFIRMATIVELY notify election offices that you are moving? I have not heard of any such responsibility, because I don’t believe there is any duty to notify of your move out of a state.

So, this dual registration is the case with my brother. For how many other hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands is this the case? How many of them will exploit the open opportunity to cast ballots in two states? How is this detectable?

The local election supervisors see no money to be made by advising the prior election supervisor that a person is now registered in their locality.

In today’s high tech age it would be a no-brainer to remove a person’s name from a registration roll when they register elsewhere.

Until the voters make this an issue with their political leaders of both parties nothing will happen.

Maybe it takes a Constitutional Amendment that requires voter identification, voter registration rolls to remove names of people who have registered elsewhere, and non citizens and dead people removed permanently.

In most states, the Secretary of State is responsible for keeping the voter rolls current. It is their responsibility to take dead voters off the register.
