I don’t think Joe understands how dangerous his new Socialist friends can be. It’s like owning half a dozen Pit Bull puppies. First, they’re real cute, soon they show the potential for pack behavior and attacking the Alpha when his back is turned.
The Dems think they are safe, but it will just be a matter of the Chinese destroying the Left last. But they will still be destroyed, if China gets the chance.
I think that’s a pretty good analogy.

But to be frank-cannibalism is inherent it Identity Politics as practiced by the Left.
This type of internecine war and associated cannibalism is seen in the light of their Identity Politics.
With Identity Politics, you get a group, whip them into a froth to obtain their support. But since that has only limited (not broad reach) and they run out of new acolytes in one aggrieved group, they have to find other groups to continue to grow.
Eventually, groups begin to be pitted against one another, and the forces that brought them together (a shared feeling of victimization) evaporate in the face of competing groups for money, power, and resources inside their own Leftist fences.
We like to joke about it on the right, when an issue comes up between a homosexual, transgender, feminist woman, or black/Asian/Hispanic person...who gets the pie? In our world, it becomes a hilarious grading system won by the person who has the most boxes checked off on the identity form.
But it real. We have seen it with blacks, Hispanics, and Asians, where they begin to hemorrhage allies out of groups faster than they can get people into them.
