But in 2017, Fox News decided to break from the exit polling consortium, convinced there was a better way to determine whats motivating voters in the days leading up to Election Day. The result, in partnership with the ***Associated Press, is the Fox News Voter Analysis, which uses one methodology for all votersearly voters, voters who vote by mail, and Election Day voters. The system, which was tested in state races in 2017 and 2018, involves interviews with nearly 100,000 voters in the final days before Election Day. One of the great things about having such an enormous sample size, Mishkin says, is that you can really drill down into the data....
Were not going to characterize the outcome in a state until all the polls in that state are closed. But having a good idea of what the early vote looks like will help Fox News understand how returns from voting on Election Day will impact the final result.
