I read a science fiction story once in which professional sports were played completely by robots. I remember thinking to myself "what is the appeal in that?"

The unpredictability of human error (and the occasional spectacular play) is what made watching sports appealing.

Some techies think that kind of stuff is ultra cool just because it can be done.

Non-techies think it looks like a larger version of those toy cars we’ve seen for years.

Bring back Battle Bots, much more exciting.
