FreeRepublic was a major player in the 2000 election. There were over 100,000 visitors to - not members of - the forum, in the weeks leading up to the election.
Members of FreeRepublic worked around the clock, posting information that was the main attraction.
The day of the 2000 election, and the days after, that work became more intense, as more people sought info and advice on what they could do, to keep an eye on the leftists’ corruption that was bent on getting Al Gore into the White House.
In fact, the defense of George W. Bush - in that election - started here at FreeRepublic. Bush himself, had to be kicked in the butt, in order to get him to put up a fight; granted, that after that kick, he did start to get his act together.
But the hub, for where info was being processed, that kept an eye on the various counts and recounts - occurred right here at FreeRepublic.
Too bad so many Republicans got hoodwinked and conned back then throwing their support behind an open border globalist like Boosh. What a disaster.

Doubt we find our VSG-POTUS DJT to react in the same manner as Bush. Do remember that evening as Gore was being driven, the vehicle stopped and stayed perfectly still for what seemed like an eternity. And yes, Bush standing in the darkened surroundings actually DID look like a deer caught in the headlights. Limbo being lifted just before Thanksgiving day, was a blessing to those of us with ‘mixed family members’.

I found freerepublic while I was up in Tallahassee during the recounts. Some guy was holding a sign with the web page. 20 years ago.
