Curious if there is anyone else on FTA satellite reception. This morning it appears that Galaxy 16 went down, all channels including the Christian channels. Looks like the sat is dead. I searched and cannot find any news about this. Does anyone happen to know what is going on? Did a Chinese Sat hit it and take it out or are they shutting it down and censoring Christian content because of the election or what? All C-band channels are down, I haven't aimed a Ku band receiver at it yet to see if Ku is also down or not. Any information would be greatly appreciated! :)

My first thought was even worse. I thought maybe it could be the start of a real and true physical pole shift. But switching over to the the other dish ruled this out. The other one is still spot on... :)

The dogs are waiting for it to cool down a bit before attempting to assault it.
Man... I hope not... Because I am not going to submit to Dish or Direct extortion... ever again. At least we had plenty to keep us happy on C-band with Galaxy 16.
One of the newest batch of starlink sats probably ran over it. There really is no more room left up there for more. It is packed solid.
Well, just put a call into Intelisat the owner to see what is up with it. Of course it is in Virginia. Probably will not hear anything until Monday if at all.

I didn’t realize there were open feeds still on C-band. I figured it was all encrypted at this point. I know the various K bands have open feeds.
I think a evil person sent up a rocket that was in the same orbit. It opened it’s nosecone and snatched the satellite....
Yep, they are now digital rather than analog but they are still broadcasting on C-band with quite a few stations open. On the same satellites they also have Ku band transponders. Well until this Galaxy 16 thing happened there were many more and better open channels on C-band than Ku.
Galaxy 16 is the best. But now maybe that is gone. I don’t know and what I am trying to figure out. Direct probably bought them out to keep just those 20 people like me in the nation from getting ANY free TV at all from Sat.
There are a lot of Christian channels free so I would not put it past them to do this.

Yea I was on C-Band for years actually converted my dish to a radio telescope (Ham Operator).. I went with Dish when Dish was just getting going...still with them.
