I don't disagree with you that the FBI could find the information online. Regardless of the FBI capabilities, I am suggesting Biden thought he could hide and still reclaim his laptop by putting into the shop. He could have thought that without physically possessing the laptop the FBI would not know where to look for it. They could search his premises but would the FBI know to create a warrant to search the computer guy? Plausible deniability. “What laptop? I don't own a laptop.”

A safer place would have been in a safe with his attorney. I am not discounting what you said and intended no disrespect. Hunter is not exactly a brilliant criminal or very careful person based on what we know about him, but hiding a computer at a repair shop with a 90 day forfeiture policy would be a special kind of stupid.
Then again, Joe said Hunter is the smartest person he knows.
