Newt Gingrich said the left is going to be shocked by a Trump victory and said an electoral map showing the incumbent president with 326 electoral votes seems right to him in an interview Wednesday night with FNC's Sean Hannity.
"He has a better likelihood than he did at this stage in 2016 when he was clearly behind and closing rapidly," Gingrich said. "The people I trust the most, the pollsters that have been the most accurate over the last 5 or 6 years who seem to understand the dynamics of the age of Trump."
"I saw today the first electoral college map that made sense to me and it showed Trump at 326 electoral votes plus," Gingrich said. "I think that is probably about right. I think the left is going to be terribly shocked."

Would be great to get to 326 electoral votes. If so, that would completely neutralize the Democrat plan to file lawsuits and have endless recounts somewhere. Even if they could plan something like that, and even if they succeeded in stealing back Pennsylvania or Michigan or another battleground, it wouldn’t be enough to change the outcome.

To be fair only EVs from Voter ID states should be counted. Polls are garbage and ballot fraud is endemic in non-voter ID states.

It reminds me of something Frank Luntz (ordinarily a bit of a moron) said after the 2nd debate. He said that most of the undecideds at this stage are not swayed by policy. If they were, they would no longer be undecided at this point. Rather, they look at attitude. Clearly, Trump comes across as someone eager and able to do the job. Biden is tentative and shaky.
I just hope Newt is right.

MN would be gravy and would shock the left to its core.
Gingrich is perhaps the best political strategist in the entire country and would never be one to sugarcoat his foresight. Instead, I think that Newt is underestimating the electoral college margin of Trump’s victory. I think we can all consider the 326 EV for Trump to be the lowest expectation.
