Let us recall that when the administration was debating CCP virus,
- Congress was tied up in phoney "impeachment,” and
- Rush was off the air starting up his cancer treatment.
When Rush came back online, he was appalled with the shutdown. Had he been up and running, he might have been able to give good counsel to the president.
There had to be a way to have forced the Democrats to take responsibility for the consequences of the shutdown.
Trump should have taken account of the lust for power of all D politicians. They don’t want American society to be vibrant, they want a hypertrophied government instead. When society takes care of its own, Democrats don’t get the credit - let alone the authority.
I think the problem at the time was the 24/7 MSM was successful in panicking the public and Pelosi was telling the public Trump was going to kill them because he wasn’t taking it seriously enough. He started off hanging back and as public fear intensified, he treated it in the manner most likely to control public panic.
