It deserved to go away a long time ago. It took all of two months of temporarily living in the athletic team housing at a university (one of the pro sports' many "farm teams") to swear off "sports" for the rest of my life.
I want these national ‘best of the best’ leagues to go away entirely and get back to local and regional sports that more people get to participate in. MLB destroyed baseball as a pastime by destroying the independent minor leagues.
