Interesting. They said that they would text a code to me and I would need that to continue my account. I had refused to give my cell phone #, like you, so I just let it lapse. With this political season I am getting 10 to thirty text msgs a week - which I just delete - but with so much internet problems and my credit card frauded twice last year I am reconsidering using Paypal. sigh I suspect that it is all a 'trap'.

I have been using a Walmart money card for political contributions and each time I access the account they send a code to my cell phone to log on; that makes my stand with Paypal appear silly.

I just remembered that once when (something?) happened and I maybe forgot my Paypal pw, they wanted a cell phone number and I told them I don’t have one (was oh phone with them) and I think they sent it via regular phone, had to hang up and a machine called back with the code.
