The signs are numerous. There is the hand scanner developed by Amazon. There are the Starlink satellites that will help connect all the world to the internet - none can buy or sell unless they have the mark of the beast.
I think most of us already carry the means of communication/control in our pockets and purses.

You have to be right. I was kicked off of PayPal because I don't have a smart phone, but I carry a flip phone, I use a debit card {digital money}, internet buying and searches... The hooks are all around us and we are more and more subject to dependence upon these 'tools'.
