Why do they think they can do this? Do they truly think they are providing a service to their subscribers? If so, they obviously think they're idiots...

I don’t know. Guess they hate Section 230 privileges. That said, Section 230 loss will destroy social networking as a whole unless there is a clear test applied as to when liability is incurred and when it is not. This could be done now without legislation, but it takes a court ruling.
