What Rush Limbaugh's life says about eternity
American Thinker ^ | 28 Oct, 2020 | Richard Jack Rail

There's a major drama playing out over the course of time, and Rush Limbaugh symbolizes some of the bigger themes in it.

Rush Limbaugh is battling Stage 4 cancer. As many of us know, this is a debilitating process during which the patient fights not only the cancer, but the effects of the treatments that kill the cancer — because those treatments are also toxic to the rest of the body.

Rush Limbaugh has lived a particularly important life in modern America. Almost single-handedly, he carried the fight to the left over the airwaves, years before many even understood who the real enemy was. Rush has always known and has always said his faith has informed his fight.

The human story is a drama in billions of discrete acts (lives) that, together, constitute the great dramatic production of Good versus Evil. The final act will pull together all the threads. That's what we're seeing in politics today. Rush Limbaugh has been a leader in our generation's canto of this millennia-long opera — the opening acts leading to the tense final act, the showdown, so to speak, between the lesser lights before their Baddest Guy takes on our Baddest Guy.

That's all imagery and metaphor, but it stands for something real and consequential. It matters to the future of the cosmos, as Jordan Peterson has said, that you have your moral act together. And those who have pointed you in the right direction have contributed to you doing that.

That has been Rush Limbaugh's contribution to humanity. He has pointed millions of Americans back to the path we ought never have left. Even he may not have known that that's what he was doing, but he did know that this path is the right path, and why it's the right path.

I am grateful that Rush has gone the extra innings to make it to this consequential election.

The rule is that no one is irreplaceable. Rush is the exception that proves the rule.

They affect some people differently. Winston Churchill was a cigar smoker, and lived to be 90.

Well Rush played a dangerous game. I wish he would have got at least a chest x-ray or a low power ct scan every year.

He has kept me, my family, and many friends informed and entertained for many years. There is no one like him. Thank God for El Rushbo.

He knew.

America has to move past the cycle of a few men- Reagan, Limbaugh, Trump- dedicating or sacrificing their entire lives to saving the country to pull her through.

I suspect many of us carry the memory of the day we first discovered Rush in the same way that other major events become seared into our minds. For Boomers, it was the JFK assassination, later, it was 911. In 2016, it was the stunning Trump victory.

We can hold happy memories. Most of us probably have a story to tell about our first El Rushbo experience.

Way back in the early1990s a friend asked me if I ever listened to Rush Limbaugh.

A what?

I didn’t even realize that ”Rush Limbaugh” is a proper name.

Later, I would discover that my parents had been listening to Rush on the radio for some time. They would drop everything at noon to sit around the radio as if it were an FDR fireside chat, but not socialist propaganda. (Only Biden was able to watch FDR in TV).

At the time, I lived just outside of San Diego and refused to waste money on cable. So, I got what I could get via antenna.

Somehow in flipping channels at 2 am, this Rush Limbaugh person popped up and I gave it a go. Oooohhhhhh, now I get it. The man was making perfect sense. Anyone who began his TV show with a tally of the days of “America Held Hostage” (Clinton years) was a good bet.

The next weekend, my unfortunate boyfriend found himself on the roof, installing one of those old whirly gig antennas that you could point as necessary for better reception.

After boyfriend came back in, hot, sweaty, and in dire need of a cold beer, his only comment was “All for that one guy.”

We broke up shortly thereafter.

Although I'm sure the cigars didn't help, Limbaugh was also, by his own admission, a chain smoker of cigarettes from his teens through his 30's when he finally gave up smoking cigarettes and switched to cigars. He told a story about it once, he said all the guys trying to get into radio were chain smokers back in the day. He said the reason was that they believed smoking gave you a deeper more gravely voice which was better for radio.

Yes. For some, the way is quite clear. They arrive with a mission.

That is also why we have a President Trump.

Our baddest guy has already taken on their baddest guy and resoundingly won. No contest. The end has been written and the outcome is sure.

This will sound crazy, but what does one have to lose by trying?

I had read an account on one of the Med Blogs some time ago. A man with stage 4 cancer was completely cured by dog dewormer. It worked so well, that there is now a human form of the med called menbendazole. The dog med is called fenbendazole.

I’m not a Doctor but I did spend the night at a Holiday Inn. :)

I hope he gets to see a Trump reelection and maybe inaugural. 6 days maybe for the first and just under 3 months for the second.
