Some of that land is under BLM. I know there is some BLM land around Travis and Hays Counties. The vast majority falls under the Park Service with the national parks in West Texas and Forest Service with the national forest in East Texas.
Since Texas was a country before joining the Union there is no BLM land in Texas. I learned that in Texas history in the 7th grade. Check their website.
