Covid didn’t arrive in Canada last spring. Now we will see how they’ll do in the next couple of months.

There are only two differences between Canada and the US, in their respective responses to covid, which could explain the difference.

1. Our unseasonably cold spring caused people to quarantine themselves without any government needing to pass laws.

2. We’ve adopted an approach that is more Sweden than not. Most businesses were able to stay open, after a short period of being closed. About the only business that remains closed are movie theaters, but they are inching open.

Otherwise, we haven’t done anything.

The trend for Canada is more downward. A few months ago, we were 5% of US numbers, but now it’s 2.5%. If we didn’t go upwards during the summer, I can’t see it becoming worse after most of the population probably has herd immunity.
