Not sure what's happening here but perhaps the virus is weakening so it's not as virulent. Or it could be that the most vulnerable of us had already died due to the virus and it's working its way thru the rest of the population (tend to be younger and healthier)
I think it is a combination. We are much better at treating it now and have more therapies with yet more on the way. I also think the virus has attenuated some to become less virulent.
