Never heard of it
Just another reason to hope for the big one in San Francisco.
I saw the tool’s Jerry McGuire moment email. They know their guy sh*t the bed in the debate and really lost the election last night. I just exported all my transactions and am looking for an alternative. I canceled my account.
I just heard that one of their customer has dropped them, because of this email.
There is a bit of sophistry in his screed.
And we get tired of saying, but bears repeating, that we are not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic.
I’d like to drink some of his tasty tears of despair on the evening of Nov 3...
Except we are a republic. A democracy is two foxes and one chicken voting on whats for lunch. Our founders were brilliant in forming a constitutional republic. Too bad our education powers dumb down the population so much
The American rich incorrectly think they are immune from federal wealth taxation but can be enriched further by federal income taxation inherently mainly paid by the middle class.
All of my team received it. I sold the company, so the decision on this is not mine, but I forwarded to our CEO along with a note about how wrong this is, no matter who you support, how I would lose half my customer base if I sent something like this, how no supplier should send this to my team, and a list of alternatives. He’s pissed. We’re likely going to get a change. Yes!
Sending this email was a very stupid, arrogant business move. It was probably made drunk or high in the aftermath of Biden’s horrible debate performance. Frankly, if I was one of the VCs that owns them, I’d fire Garrett.
Sounds to me like he has his pink pussy hat on too tight.
CEO? I don’t know what the company is, but my reply?
NUTS!
Not going to happen here. I’m a broken glass Republican, not impressed with the term “democracy”.
And The #ComDems can pound sand.
I’ll vote early walk-in next week. (I will be working the polls on election day.)
End Trans
I don’t know what Expensify does, but he effectively alienated half his potential customers.
I used Expensify as a tool for handling my expenses - take a photo of your receipts and it bundles them all together into a single PDF at the end of the week. It does more, but I don’t use any of those features.
You may notice that I described my interaction with Expensify in the past tense. That’s because I received the same email this morning and immediately cancelled my subscription.
They have every right to get up on their soapbox. I have every right to choose with whom I do business.
This idiot sends an email telling people in order to save our democracy you need to vote for Biden. When did the United States switch from a constitutional republic to a democracy?
They are also big supporters of Black Lives Matter.
Tell your CEO that this is not a democracy, never was, never meant to be one. We have a Republic which is distinctly different from a democracy - the last one lasted 80 years and was over 2600 years ago.
We have a Representative Republic, the founders avoided a demoncracy because it was MOB Rule. We do NOT have a democaracy
They distributed this to our global company of about 400 employees. This has blown up in a big way. Will be an example of a bad business decision for years to come in B Schools.
I worked at a hospital when Obamacare was going through. We used to get crap like this.
I love the President of Coinbase.com who told his snowflakes they had a severance package for people who could not live in a non-political work environment. Some folks took him up on it.
Workplaces (including my company) used to me sacrosanct...you did not talk about it. Period. We would encourage people to vote. But no messages, posters, or contests. We had a job. We did it.
Among senior management (Sr VP and Up) we were strongly encouraged to donat to the industry PAC.
When you start with a faulty premise you always come to a faulty conclusion.
