Can someone explain to me why cases go down when masks are mandated? I understand the theoretical arguments why masks don’t work./p>
They don't - at least not in Michigan. Health Dept. regs replaced Gov. Whitmer's orders about masks but nothing changed as far as mask wearing requirements. We're still spiking in covid cases but hospitalizations and deaths are way down.
Bottom line: mask regs have had no measurable effect in MI since the covid began.
That’s nowhere near proven, they were probably going down anyway. I recently bought some shirts in yellow, orange, and Mt. Dew yellow-green. I could just as easily say that wearing bright colors or eating more shrimp makes the covid cases go down.
