SBS is the Australian version of Public Broadcasting, funded mostly by the government. Australian tax dollars at work.

I thought ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) was the Australian version of Public Broadcasting?

Maybe they have more than one government funded broadcasting service?

ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) is government funded, like the BBC or the CBC. SBS (Special Broadcasting Service) is like our PBS, largely government funded (80%). Both of them are supposed to be independent of government and partisan politics in their broadcast content, but ABC is more of a national institution.
