Actually surprised with this thread thus far. The entire entertainment and services industry is devastated and many here and on Reddit cheer on its demise. Constantly telling people to exchange their artist talents for talent in Amazon box schelping.
Yeah, people celebrating the demise of the arts.
Real cretins, not smart enough to realize the consequence of their ignorance.
The Metropolitan Opera will survive on the back of wealthy benefactors. The Grand Ol Opry, not so much. Not to mention all those performers and workers.
I support independent blues, folk and rock
performers like Victor Wainwright and
Paul Nelson (was with the late Johnny
Winter). Tours cancelled.
Here in MA some restaurant-bars have had
shows in tents out in the parking lot.
Only a few attendees, and colder weather
is coming.
Strictly bars can’t open till there’s
a vaccine.Great place here in Beverly MA
had concerts with seats “no further than
20 feet from the stage”.It has remained closed.
To the tune of Those Were the Days by
Mary Hopkin:
Once upon a time there was a tavern
Then we got the virus, so it closed
“You can’t serve them,” said Governor
Baker
Will they ever reopen? No-one knows
Those were the days my friend, we
thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
