Last time with Kavanaugh, the dems pulled some procedural trick that bought them an extra 3 days on the Senate floor. They were trying to come up with more fraudulent accusations, and hoping to get more RINOs to go along with an FBI investigation. Is that trick not an option this time? As I recall, it was something like the dems were filibustering, the Reps invoked cloture, and that required 72 hours of debate or something like that. So McConnell kept the debate going non stop and then moved it to a vote.
I believe that’s why the Turtle plans to bring the motion to the floor tomorrow to allow for the 72 hours to transpire over the weekend before final vote on Monday.
They brought out Balsey-Ford at the 11th hour.
Looks like it will be over on next Monday, barring any other info. McConnell knows how vital it is to get Barrett seated, and he has the power to make the vote happen in a timely manner, and he has said he has the votes for confirmation. So I’m okay with that. And if there is a defection, Pence can break the tie.
