Well personally I only comply because if I don’t I won’t be able to work or enter a store to purchase anything. So in essence, no mask no paycheck no health insurance. I attempted to stand my ground but my 69 year old co-worker forced the issue. Security will escort you out if you try to get away without one. I’ve seen it.

I respond this way… For all the Christians who read this post… If you are wearing a mask simply to gain access to supermarkets and other stores…

What will you do when it’s time to take the Mark of the beast? Won’t the same mental gymnastics take place there… “Gosh I better take it or I won’t be able to eat” mentality...

The time to nail your courage to the sticking post is now!

This is my math formula. Others can feel free to expand upon or totally correct me as math is not my strongest skill.

a = number of covid tests to date (U.S. only)
b = number of positive cases

b/a = p% (positivity rate)

(p%)330 million = i (total number of people who are currently or have been infected i= infected)

219,000 deaths/i = TRUE CASE FATALITY RATE

I live in San Diego County... Under governor Newsom’s oppressive control…I never have and I never will wear a mask…

Every store I enter has a sign posted outside that says “masks are mandatory”… I simply ignore it and go about my business.

The people who come up to me and there are many… 90% THANK ME for not wearing the mask… And express their fear that our country is going in the wrong direction.

Now that’s not fair. I wouldn’t want to harm a business, especially the small ones who have been affected by the virus the most.

So when I’m out, inside someplace, I do wear a mask.

They are not needed outside. Especially when no one else is around.

But you see I don’t respond to edict’s or mandates… Kings give those… I don’t live under Kings RULE.. you may choose to… I never will.

Well said.

Our Governor has been shot down by the courts 2x. My GOP legislature is terrified Ds will win (even though I know they know the internal poll numbers). Gov, however is here another year & 1/2.

My area is not in compliance, but some places are afraid to push it due to losing a license.

I don’t mask. Some employees at the businesses I frequent don’t either. We had a week or so of increased compliance, then people stopped, again, and I still haven’t worn one.

I haven’t been stopped or hassled except when I took a mask and shoved it in my pocket and the employee was pissed I didn’t use it. I told her it was unconstitutional, but since she was handing them out, I took one. Then I shrugged. She shut up.

Cases aren’t infections. Enough cases and people may just stop caring. IDK. The younger folks will have to fight this battle beyond the mask edicts and I don’t suppose they really care of they are slaves or not.

Vaccines will be the next battle. If there are enough bad reactions, they’ll find something else until the world’s people stand up to them, dethrone them and go on with life.

I retired and moved in March. My little house in the woods is just about perfect. I hope to outlast the Governor.

That is true. Even Fauci said, at first, that masks were not necessary.

Church is the only place to go when we have problems like this.

our community has been voluntary mask the whole time

yesterday was the First Day at work that no customers wore a mask

hopefully people are getting mask fatigue and were paying attention when the President survived covid

He’s comparing 2020 to “the same weeks of 2015 - 2019,” according to the legend.

What weeks? He said the period ended July 25, but when did it start? And why “weeks?” Why not just take a period of time, say, from February to July?

It’s a pretty graph, but there’s something crooked in the woodpile somewhere.

The ‘excess’ death count occurs each year. How has covid impacted the excess count? That is the number you need to work with.

I found a church that doesn’t make me wear a mask.

Sure there are other considerations in finding a church - but it’s close enough by, Bible believing, good preacher, no masks, and has pledged not to shut down the next time hysteria comes to call.

The psychological impact of the mask is not to be dismissed. It says “I have surrendered to the power of the state to enforce compliance.” There is no mystery to the social environment we now face, the left enthusiastically embrace the mask and insist on its appearance wherever possible (in their places of business, in particular); the right are more hesitant and want to be left to decide for themselves where and when to put one on.

At some point the whole thing becomes an absurd over-reaction. The current infection and death rates are probably in the lower end of what you might call the justification zone, any lower and it does become rather ridiculous.

Hopefully the rates will go down soon and this will all become an unpleasant memory some time in the next year.

The idea of hygiene was pretty limited to the medical community until WWII. That is when there were huge government run programs to teach everyone in the country. At the same time there was a grand push away from defecating anywhere instead of an outhouse, and eventually to replace outhouses with indoor sanitary plumbing.

It caused a multitude of changes in America. Lots of communicable diseases and common parasites like hookworm almost died out. Children were trained to wash their hands before eating or after going to the restroom.

Countless American lives have been saved because of it.

The one class of diseases that weren’t affected were the pulmonary diseases, transmitted by coughing and sneezing. We had never gotten around to figuring out what to do at a *national* level. We didn’t know what our medical shortages would be, and what action would mitigate or worsen an epidemic. The few books on the subject were terribly outdated.

Then an H1N1 killer influenza hit Ukraine. Its effects were horrifying, even to doctors in the US.

At that point, the political leaders and the medical community decided that we needed to have a full sized “drill” before a real killer plague hits. Because highly infectious but not very deadly, disease like Covid-19, are common, they decided to pick one and *pretend* like it was a deadly plague. With the public invited, to make the drill more realistic.

Covid-19, like most viruses, is not well understood. It is much like the MERS and SARS viruses, that are considerably more dangerous, but it has no vaccine, and no existing course of treatment.

And since we turned it into a crisis, we have learned all sorts of important things about pandemics. Equipment and drug shortages, how to decontaminate, how to socially adapt, how to coordinate our emergency services. Etc., etc.

What we still don’t know is the end game.
