Mary Kornman was teacher on the Our Gang classic "Fish Hooky." But she started as one of he Our Gang kids. She also played opposite John Wayne, and was Queen of the Jungle in a serial. She was in the Hal Roach series "The Boy Friends," which was like college age Our Gang

My sister who is a Mayberry aficionado told me that Aneta Corsaut had a long time affair with Andy Griffith in real life and that is why she won “the girl friend stakes” on the show. Miss Crump was boring, the Peggy character was much more vivacious and fun. Joanna Moore the actress who played Miss Peggy was married to Ryan O’Neal and was Tatum O’Neal’s mother.
