This is very personal to me. I have 3 kids fresh out of college. My middle daughter who was just like me in my political beliefs....she was conservative, she was pro-capitalism, she looked at the left like they were a bunch of loonies. We exchanged texts on election night 2016 and I still have the text where she said “praise Jesus” when Trump was declared the winner.
Since then she accepted a job with a large firm in DC and moved there 3 years ago. She is a different person. She hates Trump, she has bought into BLM and white guilt. I love her unconditionally but I don’t recognize her from 4 years ago. For my wife and myself, it breaks our hearts. It’s literally like she has been brainwashed.
When people say do you know anyone who voted for Trump that would now vote for Biden? Unfortunately I do. Not just my daughter but the exact same thing happened with my sister’s daughter, my niece, who was also on the Trump train in 2016 and went from that to sneaking out of the house to march in a BLM protest. Please don’t kid yourselves into believing that good people aren’t being transformed. They are, and it’s quite scary.
Yes, they have almost ALL the institutions. Gov to media to sports to education. Situation is very dire.
Simple answers are best. As Reagan said: we have solutions to all of our problems—No one want to hear the answers. I did some thinking where did the decline start? I believe it was with the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s when the Blacks were turned into a “Victim Class” by the Left (and Communists). They were the first victims of a racist and awful culture. The victimhood and its morally upright stand has been used by many, Latinos, Native People, Women and Gays. This club was used with skill to give the Left amazing power and riches. How much of the “War on Poverty” money—really went to poor people of any color? Very Little. Sadly, things are reaching a crescendo that will end in utter violence. Our problem—we thought money would solve all problems. We have been strangled by our own success. Maybe America needs to be humbled—reduced to a second rate power. Maybe Red China does need to rule the world for a while. Maybe their bloody hatchet will do more for peace than our kind words and gold. Maybe we do not deserve Trump and we need to suffer under four more years of Biden/Obama. Maybe we need a Civil War to purge the land of Marxists as we needed a Civil War to end slavery.
