From an immigration crackdown to the coronavirus pandemic, the first term of President Trumps administration has had a profound and often adverse effect on Americas Hispanic population. And yet, Trumps support among Latinx voters remains surprisingly strong heading into a pivotal election that pits him against former Vice President Joe Biden. Edward James Olmos, for one, isnt shocked that the race for voters is competitive within his community. Latinos are very conservative, the veteran actor, director and activist tells Yahoo Entertainment during a conversation about his new film, The Devil Has a Name.
For the record, the Stand and Deliver star will definitely be going with Biden and has actively been encouraging everyone else to do the same a conscious break from his past practices.

(Edward James Olmos remains a Dem unfortunately)
I’ve been crazy about him since Miami Vice.
I suspect that most Hispanics appreciate Trump deporting criminal aliens, particularly MS13 and other gangs. I think they also appreciate the fact that under Trump Hispanic unemployment went down and their wages increased. I also believe that most Hispanics don’t like Black Lies Matter and Antifa rioting, looting, vandalizing, and burning Hispanic businesses.
I believe so many immigrants of any kind support Trump because they see no point is coming here just to struggle for the same outcome they had back home; burdensome taxes suck when you’re the one paying them.
Most Hispanics that I knew didnt like blacks period. That was just my experience. An Indian guy I knew hated them too.
His role in Stand and Deliver was fabulous, and a role model for conservative beliefs on education
Broken clock.
Re: “Latinos are very conservative...”
Sorry - that’s ridiculous.
Ronald Reagan, former governor of California, got just 34% of the Hispanic vote in his 1984 landslide reelection.
John McCain, who tried to pass Amnesty three times, got 31% in 2008.
Romney got 27% in 2012.
Trump got 28% in 2016.
Most of my guys are pro Trump. One has a MAGa and a Make Mexico Great Again hat. Both in Spanish
My son works in the oil fields of west TX. Has a lot of Latino co-workers. All are big Trump fans.
Most Latinos are family-oriented and God-believing citizens.
legal immigrants hate illegals....Trump was the first GOP candidate to stop illegals...GOP never went after there vote...you have to remember years ago the democrats were considered the workers party....Trump changed that because the democrats changed..
Sure thing pal. I once had a guy ask me if I leaned left of right during a conversation. I told him that I was pretty conservative, so I definitely lean right. He tried to tell me that just because I was conservative didnt mean I had to lean right. I just laughed. I mean. Really?
‘Latinos are very conservative’ - E.J.O.
‘Aw crap. Build the wall’ - democrats
Captain my captain. I wish he had come out strong for Trump, but this is good enough. (Loved him in the BSG reboot.)

That absolutely makes sense to me; imagine getting here, busting your butt, and watching the elected officials let mutants tear it up...
