Actually, the first one of these I saw was from the Cruz Campaign in 2016. It is very effective because it encourages smaller donors. Rather then saying, "I only have $10.00. Not enough to make a difference." You think that, "Hey my $10.00 turns into $60, so I'll donate. Like I said, very effective. I never saw it from Trump in 2016, but his team has used it a lot this year.
