I’ve had mixed results with shock collars. Sometimes they don’t work through a lot of fur on a stubborn dog. The shock level is adjustable and I’ve used it on myself first before putting them on dogs. It’s not bad. A low level works on many dogs.
Other times it just takes one or two times with the shock then after that the beep is plenty good enough.
I think it’s ignorant to take these off the market but the store is within its rights to do so. Encouraging other stores to do the same thing is a dick move though.
There is an electronic sound device I’ve been thinking about trying to get dogs to stop pulling on the leash. It’s supposed to be quite annoying to dogs with their better hearing than humans.
Never had to use one before.....until our current dog. She’s nuts. She’s 4 now but when she was a pup I bought a shock collar to make her listen. It had a beep on it too. The beep was enough to make her stop and listen.
