Amy Coney Barrett apologized Tuesday for referring to sexual orientation as a "preference" during the second day of her Supreme Court confirmation hearing.
"I certainly didn't mean and would never mean to use a term that would cause any offense to the LGBTQ community," Barrett said, after questioning by Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii). "So, if I did, I greatly apologize for that. I simply meant to be referring to Obergefell's ruling with respect to same-sex marriage."

Never apologize——sign of weakness to them....
So true. All the RINOs spent decades “reaching across the aisle” in Congress and apologizing to the Black Caucus and retracting the wrong word on a TV statement. Or admitting to marching in the Columbus Day Parade ten years ago instead of the new Indigenous Peoples’ Day one.
On the defensive they looked like criminals out on parole whom society now barely tolerated. Jeb Bush and Kasich are examples.
Agreed. she could have said something like “I might have used different wording” and left it at that.
Answer like the dems do.......just misspoke.
For the same reason that the 13% are in 75% of commercials and 60% programming and if you're not in a mixed marriage in a commercial then you aren't watchable. The television industry drives more folks to watch old shows and old dvd's more than broadcast. I haven't seen any of the 3 main alphabet channels I grew up with using the old rabbit ears in years.
Are they implying that homosexuals don’t prefer to be homosexuals, that they would prefer to be something else?
Romans 1:18-32 say why.
Supporting homosexuality in society is kinda like a canary that has died in a coal mine. It is a sign that tells you that something has already happened, in this case people have departed from the knowledge of the Lord.
This isnt really about a sub 2% deviancy (2% was probably too much) ... its about the broad road that leads to destruction that many are on.
I wish you were, too.
"Senator, when did you stop covering for the felonies of Hillary Clinton?"
Sen. Feinstein are you ready to apologize to the American people for giving security secrets to your Chinese spy limo driver, or do you refuse out of disdain for them?"
"Did you take lying lessons from Schumer or did you use your own past history to perfect it?"
They would be saying "We call for these hearings to be cut short. We have enough statements to proceed."
No one knows for sure the origin. Catholic teaching, from where she states she gets at least her personal philosophy, states only that homosexuals are to be celibate. Of course it also calls for modesty, as does natural law, so all of this talk about, and push for sex violates modesty. Some people may be born with it. I imagine it is a preference in many, perhaps most cases. Barrett May have been apologizing to them
I doubt she is a wimp
Good points. I thought little former Mayor Pete had a lot of nerve to preach that others are not following the Bible while he quickly thumbed past many passages directly condemning homosexuality.
I doubt he and his “husband” (barf) spend any time on the Holy Scriptures.
Say shibboleth
Dont back down, Councilor.
One can train ones mind.
We are not potatoes.
Ric Grenell tweeted that anyone in that constituency offended by a single word needs to grow up, so hes not having any of your drama, Nutcase Mazie!
So in the United States we are not free to have a sexual preference?
bingo
Didn’t the left come up with the “sexual preference” thing in the first place?
Oh, right, the left doesn’t have to be consistent about anything.
I don’t understand how saying “preference” implies choice. I have certain food preferences. They aren’t choices. I cannot help but prefer carbs.
After a round of questioning by Mazie I would be totally confused as well. In fact, I think we all were.
so if it isn’t a preference WTH is it?
and what a ridiculous line of questioning’
let’s end this farce, refer her for a floor vote, and get her confirmed NOW!
Never, ever, ever, ever...NEVER apologize to ANYONE who says they feel “offended”.
It will never end
