In 1978 my wife, who worked at a newspaper, got free tickets to a concert in Los Angeles so we drove to go see it. It was more of a festival, several bands were appearing on stage that day. I was a teenager in the '60s during The Beatles, Rolling Stones era and I felt a little out of place as though I was intruding on a younger generations event. I was 28 and most of concert goers were 9 to 10 years younger than me.

The highlight of the day was Van Halen who had just released their first album, I thought they were quite good, they really brought the house down. We left after Van Halen's appearance and I read in the newspaper later that another new artist took the stage that day after we left, a guy named Prince. The article said he was booed off the stage.

Another great story.

It took me about 20 years to warm to Prince, but he certainly won me over.

Was that the one where VH “allegedly” parachuted into the stadium?

Man Eddie and Prince? That would have been a site to see! Both incredible guitarists.
