I’m more interested in countering his arguments for why Whites vote republucan.
He basically says it had to do with Strom Thurman changing parties and Nixon’s southern strategy.
He never brought up Eisenhower, and I think a lot of people switched with Eisenhower.
I would say that if whites tend to vote Republican, it’s because they tend to understand the concept of freedom from government coercion better than others and that is probably because European whites especially those from Great Britain tend to have faith in the God of the Bible which is necessary to acquire and maintain freedom.
Freedom is hardly talked about today, and yet is a basic driving force in humans. After years of neglect in government education and government schools about the understanding and importance of freedom, fewer and fewer seem to be in tuned into freedom and its importance. Why should government schools teach about freedom? Freedom is against government interest because freedom is the absence of government coercion.
In America, we already have freedom to a great degree and many don’t understand that once you lose it there is a very high price to pay to get it back. Many have died to get to America to be free from government coercion. We don’t know how lucky we are.
