I did not understand the title until I read the article. I thought someone turned off a camera.

I assume they meant “flips”, not “flicks”.

I, too, was at a total loss to understand this expression. Was the article written by, e.g., a New Zealander? Is this Kiwi slang?

Also: I am surprised that this would be considered newsworthy.

Me too. At first it sounded like someone snuck up to the TV camera and shut if off.
