What’s True
Ample evidence exists to show that Columbus was responsible for forcing thousands of natives on the Caribbean islands into slave labor, as well as seizing, selling, distributing, and exporting many native women and children, with either foreknowledge of, or indifference to, their fate as sex slaves.

Snopes also noted: The quote attributed to Columbus in the meme is accurate and was taken from a letter he wrote in 1500 to Doña Juana de la Torre, a nurse in the royal court of Queen Isabella...

The letter referred to by Scott Dawson, an historian and author, referred to a letter written to King Ferdinand...

Dawson’s book, “The Lost Colony and Hatteras Island” deals mainly with the Outer Banks of North Carolina and reaches only generally into Columbus’ adventures in the new World...

You would need to contact Dawson to get detailed information...

I just read the book...

Snopes is not always factual. There is plenty of info out there that says what you claim is not true. The enslaving of people had already existed and Columbus did not personally make this happen. The powers in Europe made that happen. I will always honor Columbus as a great adventurer and explorer.
