On Thursday, ProPublica retracted a report that Haspel oversaw a base in Thailand at which suspected terrorist Abu Zubaydah was subject to enhanced interrogation techniques, including waterboarding, that many senators believe to be torture, and that she mocked the prisoner's treatment. Paul referenced the story in his news conference on Wednesday and said Haspel has been "gleeful" in her defense of torture techniques.
That vote was due to Paul being a vagina, nothing more.
