How interesting. Is his mother your daughter or daughter-in-law?

Sounds like a typical toddler to me.

His head might really be out of proportion to his body, but the picture here is insufficient evidence of this.

There is going to be lens distortion in a shot this close. (Look at how big the fingers on his right hand are.)

“I can’t imagine kowtowing to a toddler in my grocery buying, or anything else, for that matter. And I’ve lived through four of them”

Short of refusing to eat until the child is hospitalized I think parents will just them go ahead and eat their pizza slices or french fries or whatever the child is spoiling for. My sister-in-law put her oldest boy in the hospital three times when he was very young because he absolutely refused to eat unless it was what he wanted and they didn’t give in easily. They were at wits end with that child. Today as a 35 year old he eats nutritious meals and his children eat nutritious meals as well.

I once ate Mac & cheese for most every meal for 8 months. Mainly cause I was a bum and that was all I could afford on blood plasma money.

I worked with a guy who ran a gold mine in Southern Arizona and told me this. One day a beat-up sedan pulls up and a raggedy-looking guy comes up and asks if he needed a good welder. He did, so the guy got the job. The guy was living in his car, so the boss let him sleep in the tool shed.

After a days work the welder asked if he could have a small advance on his wages as he had nothing to eat. The boss gave him a few bucks. The guy comes back with Mac & Cheese - AND a few cans of Alpo. Said they made a great casserole. Asked the boss if he wanted some but he declined.

I was picky. My father believed in "no thank you helpings". After an hour sitting at the table, and Huckleberry Hound coming upon the TV, I ate.

Who is stronger? A Marine Drill Instructor, or a 5 year old? And he was always quiet about it...

Our youngest was always tiny, and a very light eater, even when she was being breastfed. When she was perhaps 4-7 years old, we’d go to a buffet, and she’d have 2 tablespoons cottage cheese, 4 or 5 black olives, and a small wedge of watermelon. She’s in her 30’s now, and though she was a size 2 until her mid 20’s, she’s almost pudgy, now, though she still has an hourglass shape. And, BTW eats a quite normal, varied diet.

That’s reasonable; you gave them a choice. Some of these hard-nosed FReepers must have been miserable to have as parents.

I see no mention of a father who would have straightened the problem out long before now.

I love it how “picky” and “stomach-sensitive” dogs that require special food will ALWAYS eat cat poop, and enjoy it, even if it is coated with sand, clay kitty litter, or mulch.

Dog food is recommended for, “abandon ship” rations in life boats. It will keep you alive but you won’t want to eat it all up in a short time.

"eats only cheerios and milk..."

Back in the late 60's, there was a breakfast food scandal.

If was found back then that Cheerios had the nutritional value of cardboard.

That forced cereal makers to boost the food value and nutritional value of their products.
