Rhythm line similar to that of Tony Joe White's Polk Salad Annie, even in the same key.
Whoa are you kiddin’ me? I didn’t know! RIP Windflier.
Tony Joe smoked! Trolls of Rock and Roll
Last year.
I miss him.
Many do, myself included.
"Knowing that you would have wanted it thees way."
The lead singer is very good, he puts little phrasing details in that I don't think Peter Cetera thought of.
Also he looks like Dr. Squatch.
Yes. The JJF is a nice add.
I have been following those guys for quite a while. Great musicians and great recording, mixing and production.
Oh well. Yeah, I like these Russians, I hope they go on the Indian casino circuit and maybe we'll get a chance to see them live.
Wow, hate much.
I think you have a Britney Spears show that you’re about to miss
I describe him as a Russian mobster.
We saw Leonid and Friends in concert last year. Fantastic artists.
Not Ronnie Bell the singer.
He sang if you got enough hootch in him!
Having seen both now (Chicago in the 1980s and 1990s) yes I prefer Leonid & Friends.
As is usual, I get weird little moments when amazing things come my way. Got to meet a few of them. Ksenia is very sweet in person. Spoke with the drummer a couple times, briefly, and their new lead guitarist, Konstantin. Saxophone guy was there and a few crew members. I had hoped I could meet them someday but never really thought it would actually happen.
Didn’t get to run into Leonid unfortunately. The lead guitarist pulled out his cellphone and showed me their upcoming schedule.
Then he scrolled down to show the end date in Moscow. Or at least, that’s the last date he showed me. Konstantin and I spoke about his guitars; when he first passed by me earlier that day, he had a different case. Konstantin said that was his Telecaster in that case (he had a different case next to him).
Drum solo by Igor was awesome. 10 minutes, or so it seemed. I asked Igor about studying Danny Seraphine for the intro to “Free” and Igor replied he had also studied Buddy Rich’s style.
Rick Beato did a great video braking down “Make Me Smile”

You really appreciate what a beast Danny Seraphine is on the drums.
Yeah Danny is awesome. One guy (fan) told me Danny has sat in with Leonid & Friends a couple of times when they were touring.
Wow. What show were you at?
I saw Chicago around 1980. Remember it was a great show but nowhere near as exciting as Leonid and Friends.
We had tickets for the show in Bucks County, PA but couldn’t make the reschedule date so we bought tickets for Northfield, OH. Some friends who live near there joined us.
(I’m wearing my Leonid and Friends concert shirt today)
My admiration for their raw talent continues to grow. Watching Leonid simply attack the bass made me realize just how good he is.
I’m not a musician, but I don’t see anyone in that group who is simply not at the top of their game.
It’s kind of weird but I love how Roman calls us their friends, almost like we’re part of the group.
Are you on their Friends Facebook page?
PM
They were great. Leonid was attacking that bass. Konstantin really played that guitar as well.
Igor is just unbelievable on drums. They all left the stage for his solo.
