Spoken like a true parent.
We've all been there between loving them and wanting to slap them upside the head (or knock them into next week) in the hopes of knocking some sense into them.
Prominent family of the Confederacy ping...
“This old timer was still around in the 1950s -
Last Witness to President Abraham Lincoln Assassination - Ive Got A Secret”
I believe that old timer died a few weeks / months after his appearance on the show.

The Harrisons and the Tylers lived across the street from each other, I think.
“His grandfather was the tenth President of the united states”
And one of only four Whig Presidents. Tyler was also elected to the Confederate States Congress but died before taking his seat.
President Tyler was chosen to head a peace convention that met in Washington in February 1861 for the purpose of heading off civil war.
Only the Deep South states had seceded at the time; Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas were still in the union. Those four wouldn’t leave until Lincoln called up an army to force the Deep South states back into the union.
He wasn’t a Whig President for long. The Whigs kicked him out of the party 5 months after he took office.
I posted this on Facebook on Sunday. I tripped over his obituary, looking for information about him.
We also have a CSA vet on our tree. He survived, came home, fathered 12 and lived to be an old white-haired paterfamilias. Directed his grandchildren where to pick up spent CW ammunition (minie balls) on his farm.
With that many kids, we have had several generations where some of the aunts and uncles are only a few years older than some of their nieces and nephews, with some first cousins of the same degree separated in age enough to be parent and child.
