There are deep water currents that work like the “people movers” at the airport. Big sharks like great whites will go deep, catch a current, and “pop up” a thousand miles way. The satellite trackers have shown this. They also know that these sharks probably aren’t eating during a trip like this because they can only keep their body temp a few degrees above ambient water temps — insufficient for their digestive system to work.
