My phone number is already established with relatives, business associates and numerous financial accounts. Changing it would be a massive headache, plus I’d be bound to miss someone and lose contact inadvertently. I shouldn’t have to go through all of this for someone else’s error. A quick fix is to simply correct the internet phone listings.

It is an age old problem.   Imagine if your number was on restroom stalls all over the town with the message "for a good time call sally."   It is the same reality.   Change your number.
