I’m sure you know this, but these morbidity stats are VASTLY inflated by the absurd practice of counting any death WITH covid as a death FROM covid.
It has been alleged that if the deaths were accounted for properly, the true number of covid deaths would be something in the range of 1/20th of the number being reported.
And ironically, the conclusion that the very old and very sick are the most at risk of dying from the virus may be a “truism” - it may largely be due to the fact that these people were dying anyway.
In other words, it is exactly like saying that people who are already dying when they get stung by a bee, are far less likely to survive the bee sting than people who were not already dying when they got stung.
It is true, but it is also meaningless.
